What's to be done? 

When we rise early in the morning and are to go to bed... When faced with outbursts of emotions.. In sickness or wealth... In grief or excitement.. In desperation and comfort... Every possible moment?

"If he depends on the prayers of God's people, then we will work all the harder to keep God's people from praying", this is a remark from "the destroyer" in reference to intercession of an angel for the Christians in "Piercing the darkness "(Frank E. Perreti). Although it originates from a literary work, the truth in it is not questionable.  The devil is not mistaking, he takes your prayer, he takes your strength! 

How amazing it is that prayers, I mean praying with maximal concentration works wonders.
I could barely comprehend the might of prayer as it was spoken about by many. Born in to a religious family with almost every prayer stuck on my lips, I was a fan of mindless recitations. I'd recite the roasry tirelessly like it didn't really matter, cause I was unable to let the words flow from within. I'm certain a thousand or more people reside on this shallow path, but hey, we'll find this missing page together.

Praying often will mean nothing if done the wrong way.

. LET'S KNOW HOW. 

Okay, let's define prayer

The best definition I know of is; Prayer is the raising up of our minds and hearts to God.
How then could you pray with a divided attention?
To commune with a spiritual being, we must first abandon the physical realm for a while, I mean bound our wandering minds to a place where we can activate our souls and speak to Papa. 
Prayer is very very personal. In as much as we'd engage in family, communal or congregational communion, it remains intimately between you and God. As our faces differ so do our prayer patterns and preferences differ. I may prefer quiet meditation and singing , you may prefer a moderately loud pattern, another may prefer loud shouts and pleas or speaking in tongues(as it's called, kabashing). Find what works for you and tune in.
The area that disturbs, is trying so hard to emphasize the credibility of one pattern over another. How provoked I get when I'm in a gathering of Christians who lay unnecessary emphasis on speaking in tongues, as though it provides a shorter route to God's listening ears.

This issue is quite complex, but I hope my point is made clear. Yes! Speaking in tongues is a gift from God inspired by the Holy Spirit. This I know, that it's inspired by the Holy Spirit alone, as for attending seminars or classes of any sort to attain this ability, I know not the credibility of such, do you? 

A fact to remember, speaking in tongues is simply speaking in another language not known to you made possible by the Spirit of God. Hence, English or any language known still remains a sufficient path, we're often caught up in funny interpretations of facts. Even Jesus prayed silently on mountain tops, so what's all the fuss about? 

Sun shines on the good, bad and ugly alike, we shouldn't be in a haste to trust whatever comes our way cause we can't easily differentiate these flavors of life. 
Nevertheless, in a quest to acquire this spiritual gift, we shouldn’t loose grip of what really matters, a profound conversation with God, don't try to prove anything. I can ascertain the fact that any pattern properly followed up yields bountiful fruits. Absolutely no one should make you feel less of your preferred prayer pattern, it's of no concern to any but you .

. NOW, WHY?

Prayer is a vital necessity. Apart from primarily yielding answers to petitions, prayer fortifies the soul. 
Ever wonder why a person becomes outrageous and brutal, how one ends up possessed?Hear this, negligence is all that there is to yield such results. 
Neglecting the strength of the devil and his numerous agents, the weakness of the human nature,the reality of the unseen things, the need to always be on guard never fails to yield tragedy. 
My Dad says that for every action carried out, a Spirit is in charge. I once felt the existence of evil spirits was fictous and somewhat far, but hey, they are real. They do exist in colonies everly ready to reside in any convenient host,should that ever be you? (Godforbid!) 

Nature abhors neutrality and vacuum! Don't practice religious mediocrity ... it's not really a thing. Every man and woman was created and given the Spirit of God (breath of life), the only Spirit that gives free will to it's host. It remains our primary duty to nurture this spirit by praying and listening to the gentle voice of our conscience. We happen to be in a very noisy and busy era that we barely realise the harm we cause ourselves(reflect briefly) 

"One who grooms a Spirit will be groomed by the same Spirit". Woe to you, to me,to us... if it be not the Spirit of God, for we soon begin to loose absolute control of our actions and constantly find reasons to justify evil (what more is there to possession?). 

Prayer doesn't just protect you from danger, it presents your body as not conducive for foreign spirits. It strengthens virtue, it energizes will, it fortifies the soul. We go wrong when we pray with a lot of expectations (I can testify to the hurt unmet expectations could bring), pray because your life's journey depends on it. We should speak to God very often, I have a lot learn and so do you. It is in vain that we toil everyday without involving the only one who knows our true purpose... So much relief we get from conversing with loved ones, I can only imagine how much peace a genuine conversation with God gives . 

Speak to Him, God waits on you!
